REGGAE NA PIASKACH FESTIVAL hits again !

Dozens of reggae artists from around the world on two stages: main and sound system and a lot of additional attractions – this is how REGGAE NA PIASKACH FESTIVAL 2012 is going to look like. July 14 and 15 th in beautiful area near by the lake in Ostrów Wielkopolski audience will hear: JAH MASON & House of Riddim (JAM), SEBASTIAN STURM & Exile Airlane (NIK/GER), MAIKAL X & K.J Klan (HOL) and HABAKUK, RAGGAFAYA, ZEBRA, YAHOO, FOLIBA and many others good bands from Poland.

WHAT IS REGGAE NA PIASKACH FESTIVAL ?

Reggae na Piaskach Festival is one of the most popular Polish open air reggae events promoting the most creative artists of Polish and international reggae culture. It has been originally established by „Strefa Kultury” – cultural association which since the beginning takes care about both artistic and logistic aspects of the festival.

RNP has been playing since 12 years in city of Ostrow Wielkopolski. It usually takes place at the beginning of summer vacation and starts season of open air reggae events in Poland. During this decade we’ve proudly presented almost all the best Polish reggae bands and dozens of artists from Jamaica, Zimbabwe, Mosambic, Holland, Great Britain, USA, Germany, Peru and many others.

Concerts take place under the huge tents system with wooden floor, preserving even few thousands of audience from possible rain or wind.

OSTROW WIELKOPOLSKI - THE PLACE FOR A FRIENDS

RNP is located at the beautiful area under lake Piaski (that’s where the name of festival comes from) in a city of Ostrow Wielkopolski. Ostrow Wielkopolski is well situated, middle size city, located in the West part of Poland. It is 300 km from Warsaw and even less from Berlin. The closest big cities are Poznań (120 km) and Wrocław (90 km).

Piaski is not only a perfect place for reggae lovers. It is also very popular place for active recreation, with its beautiful beach, clean water and dozens supplied acivities: climbing walls, sport fields, playgrounds for kids or especially Adventure Park on the trees. If you don’t like sport you can always just walk around whole lake on the new promenade.

WHAT FOR AUDIENCE?

We are maybe not the biggest reggae event Poland but we care a lot of our audience. This is why RNP is usually called  “the most friendly and the most familiar reggae festival in Poland”. At the festival place we offer full accommodation with brand new place for a tent, cheap food (including vegetarian cousine), free playgrounds for children and our most precious “treasure” – unique, friendly and familiar atmosphere.

It is also important that tickets are relatively very cheap (aprox. 25 euro for 2 days) and accomodation is also much cheaper than the others.

JAH MASON – real authentic Jamaican vibrations

He is the one of those real, authentic Jamaican artists who guarantee high quality of every concert, no matter if it is in a small  club or great open air festival. Deep, charismatic personality, unstoppable energy makes him one of royal class artists of bot reggae and dancehall style. He’ll vist Poland again on July 14 th during Reggae na Piaskach Festival.

SEBASTIAN STURM & EXILE AIRLINE – rising star of European reggae

In 2006, Sebastian Sturm’s debut album “This Change is nice“ takes both critics and lovers of classic roots rock reggae by surprise. Now Sturm is one of fastest popularity growing reggae artist in Europe. His show on Reggae na Piaskach Festival on July 14 th in Ostrow Wielkopolski will be the very first in Poland, so do not miss it !

MAIKAL X – an artist who crosses bariers

A distinct, unique voice and humble character describes the artist Maikal X. These same features made him part of the best selling hip-hop/reggae group ever in The Netherlands “Postmen”. Now he looks for finding the way to the hearts of audience in Poland, on Reggae na Piaskach Festival in Ostrow Wielkopolski.

HABAKUK – great heart for reggae

Since more than 20 years they keep on the wave of reggae music. Now they reached the position of one the most intersting an most popular polish reggae bands. Open for musical experiments the’re heading new challenges and respect the roots of what they do.

RAGGAFAYA- energetic volcano on stage

Once you’ve seen tchem, you’ll never forget them. Raggafaya shows are one of the most energetic concerts of new polish reggae/dancehall/ ragamuffin style. They’re coming back to RNP to show that the fire in their hearts is still burning.

JAHOO – on the begining of the road

They expect much and promise to do their best. Concerts are the most important for them now and they’re working hard to give good show for the opening of RNP 2012. We believe they’ll do.

ZEBRA – new dubbing inspirations

One of the most interesting debuts from last year, although band was created in 2007. They make experiments, compose psychedelic sounds with dub-punk-reggae-indie styles. They mix modern, electronic sounds with instruments like guitars, trumpet, saxophone and melodica.

FOLIBA – african drums for inspiration

Drumming concept based on oryginal rythms from West Africa, played on original instruments like: djembe,  dundun,  balafon oraz shekere. They’ ll  have their own show and also provide workshops open for every kond of drummers.
